Hey, I’m McCalla, one of the newest additions to the EQX Lineup. Since I started at the station I’ve heard the old joke “you certainly have a face for radio”, from a lot of people. Which makes no sense; you can’t see my face on the radio. Some people are stupid.

Some of my favorite music: CAKE, The Black Keys, the Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Spacehog, The Rustic Overtones, Paranoid Social Club, The Pixies, Primus, Horse the Band, Modest Mouse, Reggie and the Full effect, The Rx Bandits, Rage against the Machine,  Beck, Radiohead, James Brown, George Clinton, and much MUCH more.

A few of my non-musical interests: Cheesy horror movies, Altoids, and bacon.

Originally from Pittsburgh, but raised in EQX land, I’ve been an avid listener since my high school days and It’s awesome being a part of the crew now that I’m all grown-up-ish. I interned at a radio station back in the high school days, but at an easy listening station. It was a good experience, but after hearing Celine Dion’s “My heart will go on” for the umpteenth time… I decided I needed a break from radio.

SO, I went to College to become the next Indiana jones. I after graduating, I found out he was a fictional character played by some actor, Harry Ford. I regretted not following my HS guidance counselor’s advice to pursue a career as an intergalactic smuggler, especially after winning a spaceship in a poker game against Billy D. Williams.

Fate (perhaps the force) led me back to radio… and to EQX, a Celine free station; just in time for the release of Titanic 3-D.
