Cheryl’s Walk for Ovarian Cancer

Cheryl Stillson was a mother, a husband, a librarian, a lifelong Manchester resident, and a loving, caring, generous, fun loving person. After a prolonged battle with ovarian cancer Cheryl passed away in summer 2020, surrounded by family and friends in her home. She left behind a strong and vibrant family but also left an irreplaceable void in the town of Manchester, where she brought the joy of reading to many as the Assistant Director of the Mark Skinner Library.

On July 17th we honor her memory by walking through the town she loved so much and dedicated her life to. Cheryl’s Walk begins at the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park at 10AM, and continues through the following routes:

1) NORTH ROAD (approximately 2 miles one way – limited parking at North Road)

2) RILEY RINK AT HUNTER PARK (.75 mile one way – plenty of parking at Riley Rink)

Travel can be one-way or round-trip depending on the individual

Another option involves staying on the grounds of Thompson Memorial Park

3) REC CENTER LOOP (one mile around the Park)

We welcome walkers, bikers, and runners to follow these paths in her honor while they think about the memories of this wonderful woman.

Please consider donating $20 to participate in this walk. That donation includes a T-shirt that allows you to participate in this walk. Our permit only allows 50 walkers, so the donation option to walk is limited to 50 participants. However, if you can’t make it on the 17th we ask you to please consider choosing the option to walk virtually or to donate and not walk. That option is open to as many people that wish to donate. No matter which option you choose, 100% of the money will be donated to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.

Thank you very much for supporting the Cheryl’s Walk and the fight against ovarian cancer.
